Personally, I don't think there ever is or was any "threat" of people going to the capital today, but the DS has thrived for 4 years on writing anything citing "unnamed sources familiar with X...".
Anyway, I am writing this post to provide some additional information and context as to why the media has the sharks circling on March 4th.
March 4th would have been the day Trump remained President per the 12th amendment if Pence had come through and declared the electoral votes as invalid (for just cause) and no one had 273 votes and so on and so forth.
Obviously that didn't happen, so whatever is going to happen is happening behind the scenes. Keep the faith. Stay safe.
Incorrect. That portion of the 12th Amendment was superseded by the 20th Amendment.
January 20th is inauguration date, set since 1932.
That's assuming the president is fairly chosen. That is inauguration day, but it does not override the process of choosing a president, since if there is no president, there can't be an inauguration.
The law and the constitution don’t work that way. The constitution lays out a path for challenging election results. We followed that. But the corruption is total.
What path is left to us? Claiming ‘March 4’ is legitimate? Hope everybody agrees?
We do have a last resort available: withdraw our consent.
I wholly agree. My point of the post was to highlight why people are focusing on 3/4 so more readers have some background. I think the day itself is meaningless, and I think that Americans need to withdraw consent
