A funny thing about Edith Wilson holding her husband's place is that everyone in DC suspected it and they were content to let it be, as it kept the Presidency weak. Wilson had done enough damage and the country didn't want his globalist League of Nations. All Edith had to do was keep a steady hand on the tiller.
Wilson was an odd duck. He had no close male friends. Edith had no interest in politics until Woodrow married her and talked her ear off. She was a fit substitute for him because she knew his mind better than anyone (including him post-stroke.)
They lucked out in that Wilson's Vice President, Thomas Marshall, did not want to become President and did not push the issue. Marshall belonged to that particular generation of Americans who experienced the shooting deaths of three Presidents: Lincoln, Garfield, and McKinley. Marshall didn't like those odds and he was content to draw a good salary for an easy job.
A pre-emptive "check the date, it's an old story" for those who will claim this was suddenly released by the MSM to get ahead of more claims that Jill Biden is really signing the EOs (and maybe she is.)
Wasn't sure at first of your comment, but I think i understand that you are pointing out that this article was NOT recently released as any part of MSM scheme?
I went looking for something on the subject, remembering that there had been a previous situation in which a First Lady stepped in during husband's illness. It seems this might have had an influence on the 25th amendment development though. PBS is NOT my favorite news source, but this article just seemed informative, not so much politically directed.
Yes, that's exactly what I said. There's been too many instances of people looking at a link, not checking the date, and going off assuming it's a recent event or new shilling by the MSM trying to get ahead of something going on right now.
