They’re doing this because the know the narrative is failing. People in majority are rejecting the vaccine and ditching masks anyways so they have to alleviate the restrictions before the normies realize they’re the minority and are being oppressed by their own party while everyone else is living their best life. They have to project that THEY are still in control.
