Going forward, this will be a weekly newsletter where I will bring you exclusive OpEds, video commentary, important announcements about the future of our America First movement and maybe even a few other surprises. We're going to have some fun here and I appreciate each and every one of you for checking out our first edition. Together, we will face down Big Tech and the fake news media to Make America Great Again. Enjoy!

Rush taught conservatives how to fight leftwing censorship, we must carry on his legacy
By Donald Trump Jr.
The passing of our friend, Rush Limbaugh, creates a void that cannot be filled. He was not only a conservative icon, he was an American icon. He was someone who truly gave a voice to millions of people across the country. As a movement, we are now faced with the difficult challenge of ensuring that his amazing legacy is continued and built upon.
What many may not remember – or be old enough to know – is that Rush Limbaugh pioneered a resurgence of conservative media in the late 1980's. Prior to Rush, conservative radio was dark for nearly two decades. In the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, conservatism was flourishing on talk radio. It was both informing and engaging a whole new wave of right-leaning activists. However, this rise did not go unnoticed. President John F. Kennedy and his advisors actually feared it. They had just won a tight election and this growing medium was helping to organize and engage conservative, anti-Communist activism. In doing so, it was also hypercritical of President Kennedy's liberal trade policies.
President Kennedy flexed the power of the executive branch to weaponize what was known as the Federal Communications Commission's Fairness Doctrine. This rule said if broadcasters aired any political viewpoint, then they must provide equal airtime to the opposite view. In reality though, as conservative radio surged, the left failed to compete. So, at the direction of President Kennedy, the FCC ratcheted up its enforcement on “fairness.” Dark money groups funded legal challenges of conservative broadcasters who didn’t provide free airtime for liberal rebuttals.
Since Democrats were unable to compete on radio, they used government to successfully silence their political opposition. It worked for more than a decade. It was not until the late ‘80s and early ‘90s when enough reforms were made at the FCC that broadcasters had the freedom to allow for conservative talk radio to be reborn. Rush Limbaugh became that pioneer and a lightning rod for conservative activists.
In the time since, Democrat like Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Speaker Nancy Pelosi have tried to revive the FCC rules that drove conservatives off the airways. They’ve specifically pointed to the influence of Rush on America's political discourse. Luckily, they have not been successful, although that hasn't stopped Congressional Democrats just this week from calling for Fox, Newsmax and OANN to be banned from cable.
Sadly, we are now at a place where censorship and discrimination against conservative viewpoints isn't just coming from an out of control big government. Instead, we are seeing an avalanche of woke corporations based out of Silicon Valley engaging in rampant censorship of conservative views in a transparent effort to crush any dissent from their leftwing orthodoxy. The leftists who run many of these big tech companies have built "open" platforms. But they do not actually want free speech, they just want leftist-approved speech. They have invested billions into monitoring, censoring, and eliminating the ideas and people who they do not like. People like my father, myself, and yes, even YOU.
This is the whole reason I started this newsletter. We cannot be beholden to any one platform and we cannot afford to lose this fight. We must continue to fight and work to ensure that free people, in a free nation, can speak freely without being silenced by either big government or big tech. This is, at its core, the fight Rush Limbaugh championed - and it is the fight I intend to continue.
