It was said clear by Mao Zedong and it is communist principle about guns:
Guns for them (communist genocidal criminals) but not for us.

I don't think liberals really support Marx. Liberalism is pro-capitalism. Socialists/Communist on the other hand do support this from what I've seen.
Trump said that in 2000, he changed his stance on assault rifle bans.
Even in this context let's not use that word. Assault weapon is a garbage term. I'm not trying to rag on you, but I can't believe how ignorant the American population is about guns. We have a 2nd Amendment yet even conservatives I meet day to day would be to afraid to even hold a gun let alone know correct terminologies.
When I hear ban assault weapons I know that whoever is saying this shouldn't be talking about it in the first place. And no offense to Trump if that is a direct quote. But it is a MSM phrase. I can assault you with any "weapon" and it would then become an assault weapon. Rifles/guns are categorized completely differently than MSM would have the sheeps believe.
I bet most people think fully automatic rifle when they hear "assault weapon/rifle"... It is a tactic they used to brainwash us. You would have to ban anything with lethal capabilities using terminology like that. I can assault someone with a shoe and it would be an assault weapon.
One of the few things I disagree or dislike with Trump with, every president should be pro-2nd amendment.
Given how many people are/were under MK Ultra control, I can maybe see where Trump was coming from. Once we've cleaned up the mess, you might find that his views change.
Trump said this in 2000, he has since changed his stance on it.
