I've honestly never cared for his work as a child. Never felt it important or significant for abstract or creative development. My son gets to watch and participate in the music I make, he's particularly fond of the drums. He's also an avid reader, enjoying Lord of the Rings in the morning.
Nicely done. One of the big mistakes parents make is forgetting kids don't listen, they emulate. Teaching them as an apprentice will do far more than decades listening to lectures.
