I have lived the corruption of CPS/DCF, I went to court and fought to get my children back except its a kangaroo court! I had all the evidence but they didn't care, my lawyer never presented anything he was state provided. This system almost killed me, if it wasn't for God I wouldn't be here. A year in court only for them to rule against me before ever seeing any of my evidence. Then another year and a half doing their bidding to get my children back. I don't think they ever did anything harmful to them except for the PTSD and trauma they were caused I am talking in regards to sexual abuse. I was VOCAL on social media, I made a huge paper trail pointed at everyone involved, I think this kept me safe. I could go on and on about this.
You didn't have a relative adopt them? That should always be option 1. I don't know how it works. Forgive my ignorance. When I was 11 or so, I moved to a new town. My new friend had another friend who's mom asked to adopt me. My friend said she "adopted" many of his friends. I think it was just to be placed in custody if anything happened to my parents.
My Father was going to, but he was diagnosed at that time with stage four pancreatic cancer which he would later die of. No other family would help, my mom wanted to also but she lived in Canada.
