Actually I don't believe these are green screens in the traditional sense: I believe these are deep fakes where the algorithm didn't composite the media folks properly onto the rendering. This is pretty serious shit to make these kinds of gaffes.
With the latest version of After Effects you can run an algorithm that corrects perspective between two different videos. It looks like above. It brings them closer together, but something seems off. It should only be used for quick action shots where it’s not likely to be noticed. Thor flying down and slamming his hammer would be a great example as opposed to old man slowly walking to a microphone. You may notice the perspective fix in the latter.
You can also create a motion mask to let’s say take an image and separate the foreground like the mics here. The problem with the motion masks is that you get the popping you see here. But you can go in and frame by frame where it pops and fix it. I guess like the layered birth certificate, they just didn’t have the time.
So, playing devil's advocate here, maybe Joe did step close enough to the reporters that his hand was indeed over the mics. Just one interpretation, but we have to consider that. Normally a politician wouldn't get that close, but Joe is anything but normal. He just wanders wherever his tiny reptile brain tells him to go.
No, you have to compare the sizes and then the angles. Watch both videos and think on that with the positioning. I carefully thought through this and this is definitely a gaffe in the compositing either in the algorithm that overlaid these or the human.
