No one helps him. And he was stepping along well, then at the foot of the stairs, he sort of looked around and gathered himself like a diver. I say it looks very staged. And I'm usually trying to be as skeptical as possible about the "it's all a movie" evidences that lead to so many discussions.
Yeah and they had to include the exit from Marine 1 with salutes and entrance into AF1 with salute in the video clip. There are definitely planned optics here. I would bet the 25th is part of this plan.

Great question; I wonder myself. Odd is that 50 seconds was included before he falls and 20 seconds afterwards - both which are conspicuously bounded by saluting in front of Marine1 and AF1 respectively.
