You should research the rift lakes fishing industry. This is a common problem throughout Africa. The slavers promise education and the parents gladly send their children to non-existant schools in hope of a better life for them. But the truth is that the boys are forced to perform dangerous work and the promised schooling never happens. Many of the boys are also sexually abused.
Please correct me if im wrong or mislead.. but aren't alot of these boys being castrated? Especially in Libya since Gadhafi was murdered? Ive read the slave trade in Africa has gone way up since then.. We have more slaves alive today than any point in history... yet thats brushed under the rug...
Castration isn't very common. But slavery is at an all time high. By far the largest number of "slaves" are boys used for labour. It isn't just in Africa or the middle east either.
A father of a kidnapped boy from India took matters into his own hands. Even though he was a blue coller guy without a lot of money. He was able to track his son to a factory in Nepal. He traveled there, raided the place, and rescued 18 boys, all from India. I read about this over a decade ago during one of my deep dives. I have forgotten where I read it or else I would have provided a link. I think the Indian media covered the story.
