For the last few weeks some of their videos have had the comment section open for around an hour or so and then closed.
Then late last week and early this week they got tighter, open for shorter periods.
And on Wednesday they left the comment boards open all day on several videos.
On Thursday we had Joe's first "formal" presser. No comments at all.
All videos since have been none at all, or open for a very short time, 10 - 15 minutes at best.
Are these guys just dumbasses or is it something else?
Guess we'll have to wait and see what happens next.

I get the impression that comments remain unlocked only for livestreams.
Perhaps longer livestreams take far more processing and don't become "real" YouTube videos until they are fully encoded... and that is when the comments are locked?
Just a theory, but I bet there's a technical reason for it that relates to encoding times and how busy the YouTube servers are.
