This is just a small experience I had last week. Our fridge broke down last weekend so we had to make a trip to town to look for a new one. First we went to a scratch and dent store, I had brought my mask but told the hubby I'm not putting it on since it didn't look like there was anyone in the store anyhow. There was one customer there when we entered and one employee. Both had masks on. The customer left and the employee, seeing we weren't wearing our masks, took hers off and never put it back on the whole time we were there and speaking with her. (Yay!) Needless to say, no luck finding the right size fridge there so onward to Home Depot. Hubby stated they pretty much push the mask wearing there so reluctantly I put one on. Walked down our first isle and I noticed a family of 3 not wearing masks. Something came over me and I ripped off my face and said 'Fuck this!'. Hubby then takes his off. Took a selfie and sent it to my kids. What a freeing moment it was!
It's these little steps we all need to take to embolden others as I was at that time.
