Dad and I were talking on the way home and he thinks that Biden's mileage tax to fund his infrastructure bill which will undoubtedly be very unpopular and lead to a massive number of Americans rebelling and even lead to talks among state governments about secession. I do think if this did happen, Texas would be the first to leave the union for sure as they have been leading the charge against a number of Biden's unconstitutional executive orders and policies such as his immigration policy. What do y'all think the chances of us seeing many states leaving the union are once Biden does impose his mileage tax?

People will find a way around it, just like everything else.
I would disable the fucking thing if they put it in new cars. I helped a guy who wanted all onstar disabled (I did not ask nor did I want to know why). It was not too hard but they made it a pain in the ass. I am sure that any tracking can be disabled along with any reception of roadside transmitters or gps. If they required mileage reading at plate renewal, just get an old car and unhook the odometer.
I’d imagine that they’ll do it through the DMV. When you register your sticker you have to provide verification of your odometer reading and then you file it with your taxes
"yup I only drove 100 miles last year" <snicker>
