I saw a really fascinating presentation once about all the spells and curses in the english language. For example “week day” (weak) is for wearing us down. And Week end is about how we are so worn down we come to a Weak End. We are on a prison planet and the very culture is built to keep us in chains.
That's a big thing in the motorcycle world, especially American made Harley; Harley Davidson isn't about the ride anymore. Haven't worn an HD shirt in years. All their giftshop shit is made in...China.
was reading a write up about them not long ago. how theyve been working on removing any local culture from all the dealerships including by force when needed.
they've turned into a terrible company, constantly trying to be "woke" alienating their user base.
now that they have run off most the long time people and no longer have a new crowd they're trying to put out new bikes to attract people.
I ride and I'll never own a harley don't care what bikes they put out.
I am very anti brand. It started in HS because I didn't want to be liked by the name printed on my butt. I came from a lower income household and went to a upper middle class HS for my JR year. I had friends that would spend all their money on a few pairs of jeans just for the Guess or Lauren or whatever label to be popular and it just didn't appeal to me.
that was me...1000$ a year budget for middle school.. wasted all that money on 4-5 shirts and pants...and kids still shit on me for wearing the same clothes every week.
That actually reminds me of a lesson I taught last year while doing my student teaching. We were learning about Roman and Greek gods and were talking about how many brand names derive from Greek and Roman gods and mythology.....I wonder if there is more symbolism that I hadn't even realized at the time.
That’s a perspective I haven’t considered. Good observation.

The acolytes herded by their ideas. “Lifestyle brands”
What lifestyle? Anti-God, anti-nationalistic...
