The retracting syringe isn't necessarily a trick. My friend who administers the shots (sigh) was excited to start using these because it saves time capping needles to protect from sharps.
they do sell to retractable needle syringes that retract the needle at the point at which the plunger is fully pushed down.
The question in my mind is how can we tell the difference?
