What? I've seen this movie. The producer is Werner Herzog. He's very much still alive.

Right, but that's the subject of the movie, not the producer.
Did you watch the trailer? It has to do with Blue Helmets taking over and shooting all those who do not comply in the back of the head.....The producer was found dead along with his family in real life after his Christmas packages were piling up on the front porch....this is an old story but the D.S. would never have allowed this film to be produced!
The original movie had trailers out as far back as 2012.
