Incorrect. There is plenty of gas. The problem is that people were told there is a shortage, so they all line up at the pumps and create a shortage. Tanker trucks can't keep a station supplied, if people are pumping continuously all day long from all the pumps. If people would just stay away until they really need gas, the lines would go away.
Just In Time Delivery can't handle sudden spikes in demand.
I wanted to buy a lot of a particular kind of candy at the grocery store. They didn't get but a few bags at a time. So I bought most of what they had every week. Eventually their computers figured out that there was a bigger demand, so now there is more of that candy on the shelf. I can get as much as I want now.
You're welcome. You have to play the game knowing how it was set up. People have been buying a lot of water in my area, because of the possibility of snow in the winter, tornadoes in the spring, and hurricanes in the summer. So my local grocery store always has big pallets of their store brand on sale at two cases for $5. There's no reason for people not to be stocked up.

You are probably right. Just like the toilet paper shortage.

Well who would have thought. I'll have to try that when something is in short demand. Thanks.

Yep, I remember that crunch word as we stood in line to get gas! They were also touting global cooling and a mini ice age.
