Person moved here in their teens. He is now in his 20s. He really believes Americans are only white people. And he keeps referring to the white people are the ones causing all the problems. I said it's not the Americans it's the government and if the United States government is treating the rest of the world the way they are treating us now then I can see why the rest of the world doesn't like the Americans. Then he changed the subject. Then I came back and asked if we could talk cause I'm highly concerned about this whole white people logic and trying to understand. I'm white just to put that out there. While we were talking the logic never matched up to how white people specifically are the cause of the problems. Then he asked me who lives in America and I kept saying Americans. Then he said but you're white and I pointed out he was brown but he went through the citizenship process. Then he said in his old country it was so dangerous but here the white people are afraid and that's why they pull to the side of the road when an ambulance is passing because they won't get a ticket. I told him that isn't because of fear but out of respect for the ambulance to get to the emergency situation to save a life. I understand the fact he was raised more from a different country but the fact is this country is being influenced to believe what he already believes. When he said I refer to myself as an American he said I lumped myself into the white people. With him being brown I used his same logic and asked him "so if you were a burglarer and robbed a place does that make it a fair judgment to say all brown people steal?" It's sad the critical thinking skills wasn't there. I would stump him and he would just change the subject. It's sad and makes me understand how in critical care the free world needs to be if this is really the last free place on the planet and we are borderline unfree.

It has a lot to do with your environment. A lot of immigrants legal or not attach themselves to their community groups of the same culture and never break free from a dogma of the cultural group. They sometimes miss out on the greatness of America. Living in freewill outside of a Matriarchal and oppressed system is hard to conceive or scary to some when it is all you know.
Yeah I get irritated working with him. From his cultural women are subhumans. So you got me a white female incharge of him. For the most part he's good but those little side comments that he genuinely doesn't mean to insult happen. He even says no offensive and then explains himself overboard which tells me he's coming from his good place. It's crazy because without that Critical thinking component I can see people getting trapped and not ever being free. He was projecting on me telling me I behave the way I do because I'm fearful. It'll take some time to figure out how to wake him up. The real question is what is the question I'm supposed to ask him that he will have no choice but to answer it for himself to get the critical component started?
No offense, but when somebody says "no offense" they know exactly what they are saying is offensive.
I live in a democratic state but more of a conservative area. Pretty mixed if you ask me based on my observations. I did bring up the demographic statistics of my area which is 97% white. Heck, I'm from long island so when I moved here I had my own culture shot. There is more crime in my area from where I grew up but because the demographic is 97% white those crimes are 97% likely to be commit by that colored skin. Just like the workers are 97% white so workers who don't show up to work in this area are more likely to be white.
