That needs to happen here in the U.S. While we believe in a free press, that doesn't mean news should be sold as truth when it is full of lies. The problem is when opinion is substituted for fact or when facts that push a narrative are mentioned without equal weight to counter narrative.
There used to be a program called "Point, Counter-Point" where 2 people debated the news of the day without personal acrimony. Each gave their version of what the facts said to them. I found it enlightening to watch. When talking heads spin facts and do it repeatedly every day, bias becomes so common as to be expected. Without the effort to present opposing viewpoints accurately and with equal weight, there's no way to formulate an honest opinion.
When I saw that the one building the destroyed was Associated Press I knew Israel is doing God's work
This. I wasn’t sure what side everyone was on until I learned about this.
I'm not saying Israel isn't riddled with corruption like any other big country. But I do think you are well over the target.
“Free” press in the US is not free.
Corporations dictate what the journalist says. Therefore, it is not free press.
Abusing their 1st Amendment rights in the process. Hiding criminality behind that amendment negates their existence, just as fraud vitiates everything..
At this point, they would probably just pick someone to push the narrative, and someone to misrepresent those who disagree and to make scripted counter points to be shot down.
I agree. I'm thinking about Trump returning and making a big change in FCC licensing regarding news channels and applying a standard similar to the truth in lending and truth in advertising laws. People who pay for cable have a right to expect honesty for their money. Those that broadcast over the airwaves similarly should have a duty written into their license to use public airways to convey truth. MSM needs to have their feet held to the fire regarding news. No more reliance on anonymous sources to cover their ass.
