I've got 1 percent left on my phone, so at the last minute I'm saying hello, because I like y'all (even if I'm not a follower/convert).
But while I'm here, I'll take any flak you got -- I won't argue or go into lib disproving mode. I saw the leftist AMA the other day and left disappointed, so I just thought I'd take the temperature of the board a little, from my nonthreatening obvious interloper account.
(And if I don't respond, it's because my phone died and I'll be back later, charged.)
Frustrated, furious, anxious, excited, cool as a cucumber -- How are you?
I am curious as to your take away from this group. Are we the hate filled extremists the MSM paints us out to be? Or are we something else entirely? If hate filled extremists, then what post(s) helped to reenforce that conclusion? Or even the comments of the post.
Hopefully we have demonstrated a desire for truth and understand, as well as, the ability to discern and to think critically both individually AND as a group.
Damn, good question -- From what I've seen, no, this is not a hate-filled extremist group, but then again, that's not what I expected to find here. If I thought this was a violent extremist group, I wouldn't have come here: I have no interest in playing with fire.
What I've seen here doesn't fall under that category; I've never read a post here that made me go, *Wow I should call the FBI."
What I have seen is kind of a.... extreme frustration, like a perpetually-delayed gratification that is really, really, really, really, really eating away and weighing people down.
That doesn't make a person violent, but I think it can make a person desperate, and desperation can take a person in all sorts of directions. When I think about "the threat of Qanon" or whatever the news calls it, what comes to mind isn't right now -- it's three months, six months, a year from now, if/when the gratification is still delayed.
Thank you for that answer. You clearly put thought and effort into your response, that is not something I am use to with liberals I work with.
You are right, there is frustration. That frustration stems from the desire to see this nations potential unleashed. A desire to do something to make a difference, to join in the fight to save our country that we see being ripped from it's foundation. We are called "conspiracy theorist" only to be vindicated weeks/months/a year+ later. If you have been here long enough and paid attention, you have seen those articles side by side. There is never any acknowledgment that the "conspiracy theorists" were right.
You are right, there is a desperation, and as we are pushed closer to this precipice of destruction you will see people fight back. It won't be subtle, but sudden and jarring for the country. It will be like the shot heard round the world.
It is frightening to think of, but the farther down the rabbit hole I go the less I think that moment is avoidable. I pray I/we are wrong. Time will tell.
Right on -- this is a "time will tell" kind of era we're living in.
