Today's Israel is political, not spiritual.

After the temple at Jerusalem was destroyed in A.D. 70, all records of Jewish ancestry were lost.

Hence the "Jews" can no longer trace their ancestry. If they can't trace their ancestry to the tribe of Levi, there is no priesthood. Without the priesthood, there can be no sacrifices. Without sacrifices, the Law cannot be kept. Without the Law, there is no "Judaism."
