The logistics alone to develop such platforms (even in their early days) would have been a great challenge in and of itself.

I have never believed these origins.

Imagine the cost to ‘young developers’ just hosting data being continually uploaded. Now look back and see how relatively unavailable such hosting was in YouTube’s beginning.
