My brainwashed family are definitely going to kick me out for this

Welp, way to shed light onto that. I guess my wife doesn't love me because she thinks I'm nuts and won't even entertain my thoughts.
Ditto. I was told that my vaccine concerns will “damage relationships” with my in-laws. At some point, people have to make up their minds—they want to Do Stuff, so they rationalize it and then get offended that you don’t think it was a good idea. I am not mad at them—but I am livid at the forces that are pushing this on them. I am very worried about them, going into the future...
That's a good use of livid. Though, the word I'd be looking for doesn't exist yet as I'm way past livid. It's tearing people apart and may very well kill some in the long term..
I think they are so terrified, that a crack in their carefully protected shield would cause their entire worldview to crumble, so they shut down out of self-preservation and fear. My husband is the same way. I had no idea he was like this until covid hit. I know he loves me and I also know he’s absolutely terrified of everything. I am praying and fasting and doing all I can to hope he will have a change of heart someday. Because shoving it in their faces will not work, so I just plant seeds of doubt whenever I can and leave it there, and hope he will come around eventually. I’ll pray for your wife to come around as well! I can empathize that it is a hard, lonely road when your spouse is so shut off from conversation about this.
Thank you! It is hard as we really have nothing to talk about outside of my work and her with the kids. Anything is essentially off limits. Thankfully she is not one to run and get the vax. We agree there, but the rest of it is me being a tin foil hat wearing Looney tune. I hope we all can laugh about this at some point, because it all ends and new life can begin.
Sorry to hear that, it seems like that dynamic is pretty common.
Sadly, it is common. My wife will sit here and tell me how bad a man Trump is because he says some mean things and because he's had personal thing she doesn't agree with. Meanwhile, she thinks I'm horrible because I'm on this site because it means I believe in Q. She only looks at Yahoo and MSN for news whereas I will read or listen to anything until I call BS on it. Main difference between us is she is book smart and I'm street smart. I question things that don't make sense and she accepts things without question.
That point about street smarts is quite an interesting phenomenon, it's something I've been fascinated by for a while now, I think a good portion of the people on this forum would consider themselves to be more street smart than book smart as it obviously takes questioning the established narratives and living with the fact that you will invariably be questioned and doubted by the majority of sheeple which takes some level of conviction and resilience.
Prayers for you and your family dynamic that you can find a crack or a thread to pull on and your wife can come to value your reasoned perspective going forward.
