Anyone used to read SerialBrain2? I admit his stuff was over my head but I enjoyed reading it. Does he still post anywhere?
I did until he posted something like Allah was the same as the God of the Bible or something like that. Then I stopped reading.
In one sense I think that is true. In the sense that Judaism, Christianity and Islam are all seen as Abrahamic faiths and they are all monotheisms. They all affirm one omnipotent creator-God.
After that point you really start to see some differences.
I understand that they are all Abrahamic in origin, but the nature and character of God himself differs, and Islam does not recognize Jesus as part of the Godhead.
Yes that true, good point. Islam's understanding of how God relates to us is strikingly different than Christianity's.
And, as you point out, Judaism and Islam alike have a fundamental disagreement with Christianity about God's being -- his divine nature.
So you're right, while they share commonalities, the differences monumentally shape a person's understanding of our relationship with God.
