1 Corinthians 6:9-10 English Standard Version 9 Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10 nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God.

"There are no idols in the Kingdom... there is no righteousness, save that of the King."
The Kingdom of Heaven must be first and foremost in our lives if we want to live there (if we want the Kingdom to live in us). There simply is NO ENTRY into the Kingdom of God if we cling to any idol. Any Idol(s) and the Kingdom are mutually exclusive. This may sound really harsh but the Holy Spirit of God wants to soften this and provide healing. THE COMFORTER (the Holy Spirit) WILL HELP YOU! [Pssst: It's OKAY to ask God for help... EVERY DAY if need be!]
Giving up our idols may feel like a wound or some kind of deprivation. However, our idols are only pitiful crutches. AND, clinging to them interferes with God giving us the GOOD STUFF (actually, the BEST stuff) that will replace and surpass our idols. Read the Scripture (above) again and you'll see that precious Apostle Paul is describing people who have not put the Kingdom FIRST! They're still clinging to crutches. They may not ever see the ASTONISHING BEST STUFF that God has in store for those who put His Kingdom uppermost.
The song from Sesame Street sez "Put down the ducky. Put down the ducky." (Seriously, it's a song) "Put down the ducky if you want to play the saxophone..." It's a step forward in life. It's movin' on up. "Put down the crutches... put down the crutches... put down the crutches if want to make the Kingdom your home..."
God loves you and so do I.
Thanks. I needed this.
