There is a series called "Counterpart." Sci- fi. 2017. Main character is played by J. K. Simmons.

It is about tldr a parallel world with one side sending in bad people to kill the other side.

But what they COMPLETELY leave out of the trailer is that one side attacked the other with a flu virus that caused decimation....people are walking around wearing masks and one side trained and groomed legions of people to infiltrate the other side killing and replacing their-other version.

Like imagine if china trained a clone of you that would eventually kill you and replace you because they figured one day you would be in a position to either heal or hurt the US.

If you watch them first season you'll be like

How us ANY ONE WHO SAW THIS NOT THINKING WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK.

But if course we say pee programming and sleepers say paranoid/watching too many movies.
