Let us pray it into being. May his first act be to dismantle that hideous snake hall. May his second be to call out ALL the red shoes and get them excommunicated pronto. May his third act be to legalise Catholic priests being able to marry, to take out the vicious homo pedo cycle from perpetuating any further through time than it already has. Done with that shit.
I tend to agree with you. I don't think the Roman church can really get a handle on the abuse issue until they (re)allow priests to marry, like in the Eastern Orthodox Churches. I don't mean to say that celibacy is not an option for a religious person, but the Roman church recruitment practices have become so problematic (basically ignoring the prohibition on ordaining homosexually inclined individuals to the priesthood). In Eastern Orthodox churches, from what I've been told, your average community priest can marry, and monastics remain celibate.
Yes I agree, they should have a right to choose celibacy if that is their calling, but to enforce it (and therefore push contrasting urges into less public parts of their lives) is pretty much planning to fail from the onset.
I for one would have infinitely more trust of a married man with kids spending time with altar boys out of the public eye, than a gay priest that may have been abused as a child themselves, falling into that abuser<>victim cycle of a snake eating its own tail that perpetuates this execrable behaviour down through the centuries.
I like the sound of Eastern Orthodox Churches. Sounds like the real deal.
Thanks again....
"Pope Vigano"... How good does that sound?

God bless you.

It just makes sense, doesn't it?
