A potassium-sodium imbalance will mess up a person’s heart beat, but shouldn't cause the kind of body-wide inflammation we’ve seen. Injection of any substance in sufficient quantities will kill a human, but KCl is, in general, a fairly safe chemical. Notice they also included NaCl. If the K-Na balance is correct you won’t even get palpitations
