I wanted to like "V for Vendetta", but it lost me when he started stroking the koran and implied the problem with islam was the western world's ignorance of it.
Had he REALLY read the koran, particularly within the proper context of the hadith and the sira, he would have realized it is a book of hate, war, death, destruction, and otherwise pure evil.

In fairness, Gordon was the idiot who did that, not V himself.
And then the police killed him for owning a koran...I think that was the point the movie was trying to make.
No, they raided his house and killed him for mocking their dictator on his show.
That was why they arrested him in the first place. It was after they found the Koran they had him executed. It least according to V therafter.
