well, after the war Patton was openly talking about how we have defeated the wrong enemy and pretty much handed eastern europe over to the soviets. from then on the media would start a campaign to "discredit" him. he said that there is a Semitic influence in the press and they were trying to implement communism. he shortly after died from injuries from a car crash supposedly but there was no official report of the incident and no autopsy. in fact the postmortem findings are still classified. he tried to warn the public about the infiltration but he was killed (i believe) and ultimately his warning was ignored.
We just talked about this in a now-deleted thread, but I haven't been able to find a source for Patton talking about having defeated "the wrong enemy." He definitely didn't like the Russians, but he had some... racist... reasons for that.
“The difficulty in understanding the Russian is that we do not take cognizance of the fact that he is not a European, but an Asiatic, and therefore thinks deviously. We can no more understand a Russian than a Chinaman or a Japanese, and from what I have seen of them, I have no particular desire to understand them, except to ascertain how much lead or iron it takes to kill them. In addition to his other Asiatic characteristics, the Russian has no regard for human life and is an all out son of bitch, barbarian, and chronic drunk.”
He was definitely anti-Russian. Communism doesn't appear to be the whole justification for that, though.
Patton also battled against WW1 Veterans Bonus Army on Capitol Grounds while they were peacefully protesting to collect their promised bonus pay. He did feel remorseful for his service in that operation though, he wrote several papers outlining ways to disperse crowds without injury, rather than respecting what was due to the brothers that served before his time.
patton didnt kill himself.
That would be a car crash, if I recall correctly from my sixth grade report I wrote on him.
