it reminds me of the time that U.S. spy plane made an emergency landing on Hainan Island around 2000 or 2001. Allegedly the crew failed to destroy a lot of the crypto gear on board. Essentially they gifted it to the CCP.
I actually have a small piece of that plane. My dad knew a guy at the time who was involved in rebuilding the plane once it made its way back here. The Chinese tore the whole thing apart to study it because they can’t design anything original.
Wouldn't those drones be equipped with devices that could command them to self-destruct if captured by an enemy force?

I was thinking something more on the realm of encrypted comms and heavy passwords but maybe they were a present
