The point of the video is to promote a nationwide day of protest in Australia this Saturday, August 21, 2021. I am trying to decide what I can do to join their protest. After 20 months of this insane narrative, I have not seen a protest, per se, in our town. Maybe it is because our town has been one that been more open, not instituting any further regulations locally, but only complying with those coming from county, state, federal levels and corporations with businesses in town.
Going about the business of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness is a form of protest, but I want to do more.
I feel sure that I should do more, but I am not sure what exactly I should do. Our county school board has already rejected CRT. Our mayor and town council have kept the town as open as possible after the first few weeks of quarantine... at which point business in our tourist based economy began booming and never stopped.
Some local businesses did die- in particular small mom & pop restaurants that had a business model of older clientele sitting shoulder to shoulder ... they could not regroup cut to 25-50% capacity in 2020. Our town took on the official state 4th of July Festival when the neighboring town which had held it for decades was planning on canceling for 2021, and made the events bigger and better than done by the previous host town. I am not entirely sure what I can do at the local level, but I will continue to connect with our local elected officials and well-informed political friends and find out what can be done.
