Private school parent teacher night this week. (Catholic school)
They issued a school wide mask mandate tonight after an attempt at no mask policy. This policy is for all teachers, students, guests.
Not planning on wearing a mask. Anyone have any experience navigating this? Any material I should bring to provide to the faculty if I’m hassled or asked to leave?
Just to follow up here…
Since the school implemented the mandate, a handful of students have been sent home for not complying with the masking rules, and parents have been blocked from student portals, and asked where they would like their students records sent. This was the immediate reaction of the administration. No conversation. No discussion to gain understanding.. simply dismiss the child and tell the parents to take them somewhere else. They’re even asking how they want a refund delivered without request … the craziest part is one of these students were only 6 years old.
I’m at a loss. I feel like we have lost hope. For my significant other and I - I feel as though the only thing keeping us sane is that we are in this together.
Also, last minute parent teacher night was canceled due to Covid.
This is unbelievable… I can’t rationalize this. Children are of zero risk. In our entire state not one single child under 10 has died from Covid.
How are more “Christian” parents not outraged. It makes me feel as though we are really losing and people are not waking up…. And (unrelated but valid) I’ll be left jobless, and with a child that can’t have an education unless we comply. I have a mortgage to pay and a family to care for. At what point do I have to fall in line to keep them safe?
If there is a plan, I pray it comes soon.
Sorry to hear of your situation. We’ve already done 1 1/2 years of school online. Back to in person learning this year. I made up my mind I will pull my kid out of they try to go back to masks. Judging by the actions they’ve taken, I believe the people running your school are the type that would facilitate vaccination without parental consent. As parents we have one job, to protect our kids, by any means necessary. Again, good luck
I agree with you.’I think we need to get a plan together for this scenario. Appreciate the insight. Good luck to you as well.
