How coincidental!?

I wonder how long until the narrative shifts back to us needing to spend more money in the ME in order to assure ourselves of "national security?"

Nah that chapter is over. Now they are bringing the ME to us, so they can collapse and destroy society around the world, and usher in their great reset.
