I was walking my dog the other day and I saw these 2 teachers with a group of preschool kids on the walking path. It was prob a group of 10-15 kids. They all had masks on. It is 96 degrees feels like 105 degrees. One kid tried to take it off and the teacher was like no you don’t want to get sick and the kid was like but I can’t breathe. The teacher told the kid a little restricted breathing is better than getting COVID-19.
Another kid wanted to pet my dog and the teacher said do not touch that dog, he probably is carrying a lot of germs. I told the lady not to make up stuff about my dog to push an agenda. I have had dogs since was a baby, they all have slept in my bed with me, no germs. Dogs help kids with socialization and prevent kids from getting allergies, help build the immune system. Sheltering them does the opposite but keep spewing your propaganda. If you really cared about the health of these kids you wouldn't be suffocating them in this heat. The lady said nothing.
When does this horror stop? People can call me a shill/doomer all they want but I am having serious doubts about this country recovering from all of this evil. I am witnessing people becoming even more polarized and brainwashed. I don't see anyone waking up, I hope other people are having different experiences but I think it is reasonable to be scared at this point.
I understand your concern, but some of it stems from where you live, i.e. that you're in the thick of it. I live in the Midwest in a red state, and I'm located in a very red, very rural community. My state never had a statewide lockdown nor mask mandate (major metropolitan areas did, but Dem controlled). My area really wasn't impacted by any of the virus nonsense, and once the initial social distancing and business restrictions were lifted (after about 3 months), things basically went back to normal, other than seeing about 20% of the county population in masks. The masks all disappeared a couple months ago when the grocery store and Dollar General took down their mask signs, which most of us ignored anyway. The kids were in school all last year, playing outside during recess, and only a couple wore masks. My point is that things are bad, but there are still fairly large areas in various states that have not succumbed to the insanity.
Though I am in the thick of it, waking the country up involves waking both sides of the aisle. Northern Virginia used to be a very conservative area. A lot of people stopped voting for Republicans because it "isn't the cool thing to do." If they knew what they were voting for they would be conservative again. I think that is just as important as conservative areas being conservative
