Because it works. The “horse paste” angle is used to paint users as inhuman idiots. There’s no context.
Wouldn’t shock me if most “reports” to poison control centers are made up. The drug companies have tens, if not hundreds of billions of dollars on the line. MSM, online shills, gov officials wined, dined and pocket lined is all par for the course.
