When people write kekekek. I read it fast and I hear Popeyes laugh. Is that the inspiration?

Kek is a Jaffa term meaning weakness or death.

Stargate Pre-dates World of Warcraft.

Kek was defined by Stargate one year ahead of WOW’s release.

Um, it's also from how koreans write laughter in games, they go "kekekekeke", and it started mostly in Starcraft. From there it evolved to World of Warcraft as "KEK" replacing "LOL".

Starcraft was released in 1998, so that predates the Stargate definition.
