This is what doesn't make sense to me, if they replaced him, why not have him "get better".

I figure they didn't totally "replace" him, but have a body double stand in when he's just too out of it to perform.

I believe Hillary also had one during the campaign in 2015 since she also wasn't in the best shape.

Can't have the double be too different from the real Resident Biden otherwise it would be obvious to almost everyone.
