Wow, that preview looked like a chunk of hot garbage. Like they wanted a sequel, a remix, a reworking, a prequel, and a sequel all in one package.
About the only redeeming potential is that they will be better able to make the computer effects appear more seamless.
The trilogy as a whole makes for a decent movie, but agreed that they lost the plot on 2 and 3, instead of a natural unveiling of a story they shifted to using characters and locations as set pieces to guide to the next action sequence.
I'm not a great story teller in any sense, but I would think that people whose business that is to tell stories would know that when you need to spend the first 30 minutes of a movie filling all the plot holes before you can start telling the additional story, that it's probably better off to drop it. The only appeal that might make me want to watch this one is to find out HOW they screw it up (not if).
