Mine lives in a fairly UV rich environment. I keep mine illuminated every night; out of respect and etiquette but also to keep the morale up day and night for my neighbors. The amount of American flags that fly here now is quite astonishing but there aren’t many fresh looking flags, so I imagine frequent replacement is necessary. I’m keeping this old one for my kids. Who knows what the future holds but, this flag flew during a historical time.
I have a tattered stained and sad flag over my mantle, I intend to replace it with a very nice cotton flag with embroidered stars and stitched stripes when events unfold that assure me the Republic is restored and safe..
In OP's defense, they don't make flags like they used to. If they're not the correct dimensions, it's difficult to get them into that perfect triangular shape no matter how hard you try.

I am judging your fold. You can absolutely do better than that.
I take that as constructive criticism. I will do better.

While I don't doubt the validity of your statements, I've personally never had problems that I would associate to that.
