My son was recently coerced off his football team at a top flight D1 school. The coaches and team doctors relentlessly pushed the vax over the summer and threatened cuts if they didn't get the jab. The school and coaches caved to an extent and didn't go through with cuts. But then stated that unvaxed players couldn't travel with the team, needed to eat separately from the vaxed players, had to wear mask at all times and couldn't attend events (i.e. community charity events). After this announcement he was done with the team. He walked away from his dream of playing big time D1 football, along with several other players and coaches, and now the head coach brags about his team's near 100% vax rate. I'm very proud of those heroic young men who stood up to the school's tyrannical rules.
His current focus is on his academics and now the "woke" university rules are getting to him (i.e. weekly Covid tests, constantly wearing masks, teachers and administrators asking when he's getting vaxed, etc.). He's starting to look at Texas and Florida schools as there are far fewer COVID restrictions. Any university brass out there that need a D1 slot receiver (plays any wideout position and as well as safety) with a 4.0 GPA in Bio Medical Engineering??
I am so sorry your super intelligent conscientious awesome athletic All-American kid is going through this. Another post on here tonight tore me up with the statistics of increased risk of heart attack for the demographics of all four of my kids and their peers. I just wept at the thought of what the vaxx is doing to this generation. They could not engineer a virus to do what the vaxx is doing.
I got a text from my youngest son yesterday. I had asked him what was his favorite part of freshman year at UNC-Chapel Hill. He said the football games- and I was so happy that he had found a respite of normalcy somehow in spite of it all the craziness in the world enjoying one of the classic rites of campus life- the home games for the football team... I tried to mute the thought "yeah, but the stadium is filled with kids and alumni who have all agreed to get the jab..."
Now, your son's story puts a finer point on the gross inequity of the mandates and false narratives. I was not able to convince my son not to get the vaxx. He believed it was a non-negotiable to getting the future he had planned for himself. I pray with all my heart that my son & yours can have the civil liberties and freedom of conscience that we thought were a given when these kids were born.
Thank you for sharing your story. UNC Chapel Hill is just as "woke", if not more, than my son's school so I'm glad he is finding some normalcy in the midst of all the craziness. It is such a shame that all the hard work that they put into getting into these schools is being trampled on if you don't follow their agenda. I too pray that both our son's come out better people on the other side of all this chaos...I'm sure they will...
