Why would there be sooo many sealed and of varying charges? Why indict someone on racketeering and never open the indictment? Not just the political ones - any of them. Just asking
My understanding was that a lot of this will go down all at once. Why are they sealed? Dunno, but I can think of a lot of reasons including not tipping people off that are still committing crimes.
The pattern I've noticed is that every time there is some kind of event, like the initial audit report, there is a jump in the multiple thousands within a few days.
If it were all being run through civilian courts that might be a problem, but the NDAA put into place years ago allows them all to be arrested at once, no matter how many there are. Gitmo was enlarged and IIRC three other facilities have been prepared. I'm guessing former military bases, but we were never told where they are or even if they are in the continental United States.
There was a study in 2011 showing an average of 1,000 sealed indictments nationwide - sealed and unsealed throughout the year but maintaining that average number. Even if that number doubled and then piled up (since 2017 when Durham came on board) we'd only be seeing about 10,000 sealed cases.

Sorry - wouldn't it be impossible to open them all at once? Too many to process, arrest etc.

Thank you - I need to know the facts on this
I also thought that normally there are a lot of sealed indictments in the US, some of which never get unsealed. Thanks

Thank you for explaining. - I hope they unseal them soon!
