I live on the West Coast (Tampa area); friends parent admitted to hospital; no visitors allowed; friend put up a fuss and was trespassed. Parent very sick with covid and no one to watch out for them. I have no trust in our local health care system anymore.
They usually limit you to 1 person for general hospital visitation but I'm not sure if that changes if you're someone who ends up testing positive. My uncle passed today at home (multiple heart attacks and liver failure, the guy had 9 lives it seems lol) but when he was in the hospital we had a tough time trying to see him. They let 2 at a time for a bit then some nurse started power tripping and said everyone had to go because it was "too much traffic"
It's all horse shit and I've concluded that the medical system is completely evil. I actually think he passed so peacefully because by getting back home he was able to be surrounded by loved ones.

The protocol is identical across hospitals in every state. It doesn’t matter where you live.

Usually no visitors at all if positive covid patient.
