Hard to believe. However if true I'd say it's because they can't risk losing talent to AMD again.

Was gonna say the amount of top-shelf microprocessor designers you can probably count on two hands worldwide. They seem to bounce around a lot between AMD, Intel, Nvidia, Apple, etc.
