It only works when the billions of needles get shoved into Fauci's ass. That's my theory -- let's get the study to prove or disprove this theory underway. It's only a small modification to the current theory that one has to get the shot to protect others. That's the way science is done; keep making changes until the model is a successful fit to all available data.
