The lesson drawn from this item is that from declaration to victory, a long 4-years war raged across the colonies, with losses and victories, until we finally gained our independence. It wasn't the Declaration of Independence that secured our freedom, it was our willingness to fight in harsh conditions for a victory that no one could have guaranteed then.
