I work in a grocery store and this is NOT the case in our area. Not in our store, not in any other store in our chain, not in our competitors across the region. Some seasonal items- like canned pumpkin were out of stock before this years crops were processed, but this is actually an annual occurrence.
Only rumors of shortage are prompting very rare instances of over-purchasing...
But I will let you know if the supply chain is actually seriously disrupted in our region in the coming weeks. In the mean time, observe the reality of how well supplied our capitalist economy has been for our entire lifetime ( as evidenced by our very well fed populace) and give genuine thanks to God that we still only suffer mild inconvenience and discomfort compared to many other nations.
And the GET TO WORK on the real problem of participating in state, county, and local governments to put an end to the endless series of manufactured crises.
I'm not seeing these problems in my rural area either. There are some items I haven't been able to get since the virus mess started, but in general the grocery stores and the Dollar General are as well stocked as ever.
