FTA: Unfortunately, that runs smack into our culture's habit of underestimating kids, overestimating danger and hiring trial lawyers.
This wasn't true when I was a kid, and probably only really took root in the last 30 years or so, which would be about the same time that the required childhood vaccinations skyrocketed, which makes me wonder if there's a connection...i.e. protecting kids from the 'horrors' of measles, mumps and chicken pox (all of which I survived) got translated into protecting kids from everything.
J'ai mangé beaucoup de saleté quand j'étais enfant...
....ça m'a préparé à toute la merde que je dois digérer maintenant...

One of my sisters ate dog chow because she wanted to know what it tasted like.
pffts, I remember eating out of the dogs dish as a kid once, dry dog food did not taste good though.. blahh! was in that "I AM a dog" period, like most kids do... take pretend to the extreme at times lol. Was a cat once, stalking my sisters down the hall and hissing at them for antics too! Kids are great with imagination!.. too bad we grow up. hehehe Remembers LOVING the climbing bars as early as K! loved climbing up to the top then dropping down and hanging from my knees though, the tall slides I didnt like going up on.
The lady that bakes my dog biscuits couldn't find her bone shaped cutter one day so she thought, "what the heck the dogs don't care what shape the biscuits are" and proceeded to use a regular round cutter....
Once finished, she left the biscuits on the counter to cool and drove into town to run errands...
Upon her return home, she discovered her husband sitting at the kitchen table reading the paper, drinking coffee and eating one of the dog biscuits....
She asked him,"what do you think about those "cookies"?
He replied, "obviously they are some of those "health cookies" you try to get me to eat, but they really aren't too bad."
She said, "that's great, have as many as you want", and continued with her day....
This is the absolute truth....
