Is the consensus that he is still alive? Because for me, I’ve never once for a single minute believed he was dead.

Don't know if that's the consensus. But, based on the photos I saw, forensically speaking, I don't think that was Epstein on the gurney. I'd give it 50/50 he's dead. Why no news on his cellmate disposition?
