Yep, I retired from the Navy in '93. Spent a lot of time in Pearl Harbor...Will remember that Date also (with a bit moar reverence).

Dec. 5th, 1933 ended prohibition.

Actually, most "Organized Crime" came of age as bootlegging and Speak-Easy business. The 21st Amendment caused them to "branch out" into other endeavours.
